Partnership Challenges in Managing Domestic Abuse

Darren Downs, a retired Police Officer with a real passion to continue and improve services and support to victims of Domestic Abuse, in particular Violence against Women & Girls will present at this years conference. Darren has chaired many multi-agency partnerships including CSP’s, Safeguarding Children’s and Adults Boards, Place Boards, and regional groups across the policing landscape. He has established a VAWG independent advisory group in Humberside and challenged the partnership to contribute collectively to changing the cultures that contribute to the challenges in VAWG. He will talk today about the challenges we all face, the barriers and hurdles in the way and his thoughts about what would deliver a better service to victims of domestic abuse.
